AI Trace Scrubber — Terms of Use and Subscription

Last updated: 29 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-29

These terms govern AI Trace Scrubber Free and AI Trace Scrubber — AI-assisted. They grant permission to use the hosted service; they do not transfer ownership of the software. Mandatory consumer rights and applicable open-source licences remain unaffected.

1. Provider and scope

The application is operated by Pavlos Evgenikos, a Greek sole proprietor trading as AI MARITIME / AI Maritime Insights, at the address below (“we”, “us”). Contact us by email for product support, complaints or legal notices. These terms govern use of the Scrubber, including personal use and authorised work on behalf of a business. You must have legal capacity to enter the agreement or appropriate authorisation.

For purchases explicitly marked “Sold through Link”, the entity identified at checkout and on the receipt is the merchant of record. Its checkout terms govern the transaction, taxes and transaction support. These terms govern your use of our application, subject to mandatory law. These Scrubber terms prevail over conflicting general EULAs, Application Terms, Commercial Terms or short in-app notices for this product. Separately negotiated contracts apply only to the extent expressly agreed and lawful.

2. What the service does

The free tool inspects supported formats and removes selected metadata and recognised leftovers using browser-based checks. It is not the subscribed AI inspection service. The subscribed version adds AI-assisted assessment of extracted evidence and, where enabled, media samples, alongside supported local cleaning and inspection reports. The current interface explains available modes and coverage; not every format supports every operation.

An identified marker establishes that the marker exists, not who authored the whole file. Software names, document structure and generic provenance credentials do not alone prove AI generation. AI assessment can be incomplete or wrong. No promise is made that a file will become anonymous, untraceable, free of every AI clue, accepted by an AI detector, or compliant for any particular submission. Statistical or embedded signal watermarks are not verified without a compatible detector.

3. Your files and responsibility

You retain your rights in files you supply and in the content of resulting copies, subject to third-party rights. You authorise only the processing needed for the operations you request. No ownership in your documents is transferred to us. The application does not give you rights to remove another person's protected notices or process information without authority.

Keep an original backup. Review the selected options, changed copy, remaining findings and any preservation checks before relying on a result. Changes can remove attribution, timestamps, comments, revision information or other material selected by you. Preservation checks test supported properties; they are not an absolute guarantee of identical appearance or behaviour in every application. Do not use the Scrubber as your only security, confidentiality, authenticity, legal or compliance check.

4. Licence and protection of the application

We grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the official hosted application within your plan for your own or authorised business files. A subscription licenses access for the registered user; it does not sell or transfer the application, source code, branding or intellectual property. We retain rights in our original code, interface, documentation, design and protected technical materials.

Except where applicable law or an applicable third-party licence permits it, you may not redistribute or resell the application, offer it as your own hosted service, copy substantial protected parts, remove our proprietary notices, impersonate our business, share subscriber credentials, evade access controls or quotas, probe private endpoints, or automate abusive traffic. We may use lawful measures against infringement and seek available damages or injunctive relief. Nothing restricts statutory interoperability rights, lawful independent development, or the rights granted by the third-party licences supplied with the app. We do not impose a fixed contractual penalty on consumer users.

5. Free use, limits and availability

The free version is offered without a subscription charge and without a commitment to provide it indefinitely. Reasonable batch, file-size, security and request limits protect service availability. Ordinary free visitors do not need an account. The current free defaults are up to 10 files per addition, 30 files and 200 MB in a session, and 50 MB per file. Archive safety checks and browser capacity can impose additional limits. Starting a new session clears prepared copies, so download them first.

Subscriber AI inspection has allowances over rolling five-hour and seven-day periods and the paid subscription month. The account displays the percentage used and availability. Each successful file review counts, including a separately requested deeper review; failed reviews and internal retries do not use the allowance. Local cleaning remains available when the AI allowance is exhausted. Allowances are not a guarantee of unlimited use, guaranteed response time or a particular AI technology. We will communicate material reductions affecting a current paid plan in advance, except urgent measures necessary to protect the service or meet legal requirements.

6. Price, billing and renewal

The current standard subscription is €5 per month excluding applicable tax. The checkout shows the applicable tax and final payable amount before you confirm payment. Currency localisation may be offered by the merchant of record. There is no separate per-review charge unless a different plan is clearly offered and accepted.

The subscription renews monthly until cancelled. Manage it using the app's Account → Manage subscription control or the order-management link supplied with your receipt. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally leaves access until the paid period ends. Keep the cancellation confirmation. A renewal already processed is a separate paid transaction; cancelling does not itself refund it. We will notify you of a proposed price change before it applies to a future renewal and provide a way to cancel.

7. Cancellation, withdrawal and refunds

Cancellation, a statutory withdrawal, a service-defect remedy and a discretionary refund are different actions. We do not offer an additional unconditional money-back guarantee or a general right to a prorated refund merely because you stop using a paid month. This does not remove any refund or other remedy required by law or applicable merchant-of-record terms.

Eligible consumers generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance service contract, subject to applicable rules and exceptions. Accessing a recurring digital service does not by itself establish that all withdrawal rights have been lost. We will rely on an exception, deduction for service already supplied, or loss of a withdrawal right only where legally applicable and supported by the required information, express request, consent and confirmation. We do not assume those conditions from a preselected box or from these terms alone. Business customers do not acquire consumer withdrawal rights solely by using this page; rights depend on the transaction and applicable law.

Use the transaction-support or order-management route in your Link receipt to submit a withdrawal or refund request to the merchant of record, or email us and we will assist in forwarding the request. State your name, purchase email, invoice/order reference, purchase date and that you wish to withdraw or request a refund. No particular wording is compulsory. A model statement is: “I hereby withdraw from the subscription contract for AI Trace Scrubber purchased on [date], order [reference]. Name: [name]. Email: [email]. Date: [date].” Do not send card numbers or banking passwords.

Link handles transaction-related support under its rules and may contact us for product information. Any merchant-of-record refund window is not an unconditional refund promise from us and does not replace statutory rights. Billing errors and a service that is not supplied or does not conform to the contract are considered under the applicable remedy rules. Statutory rights do not automatically end after 14 days.

A full refund of the currently funded subscription period removes access funded by that payment and stops future renewal. A partial refund normally leaves access and renewal unchanged unless the refund confirmation says otherwise. Refunds of older periods do not automatically cancel a separately funded current period. Approved refunds and tax adjustments are handled through the original payment route as applicable. We do not deduct charges from a mandatory refund where the law prohibits doing so.

8. Support, changes and suspension

Product support is available at the email below; payment and invoice support is also available through the merchant identified on your receipt. There is no 24-hour service-level commitment. We may maintain, correct or replace technical components while preserving the agreed core function. We may proportionately restrict abuse, unauthorised access, fraud or security threats; where appropriate we explain the reason and allow correction. A dispute may temporarily restrict the disputed access while reviewed, without removing applicable rights.

For a paid continuous service we remain responsible for applicable conformity and update obligations. If we discontinue a paid service or materially change its agreed functionality, applicable notice, cancellation and refund remedies are preserved. We do not apply new terms retroactively to remove accrued rights. Material amendments will be communicated through the service or email before they apply where required.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is supplied on an “as available” basis without additional promises beyond its described functionality and mandatory obligations. We do not guarantee complete detection, the absence of all identifiers, or uninterrupted availability. You remain responsible for your intended disclosure, use and retention of files.

For business users, to the extent lawful, aggregate liability arising from the Scrubber is limited to the subscription fees paid to us or for our service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and excludes indirect losses and lost profits. This contractual business limit is not imposed on consumers. No provision excludes or limits liability where prohibited, including intentional misconduct, gross negligence where non-excludable, fraud, or mandatory consumer and data-protection rights. We do not promise compensation for losses outside our legal responsibility.

10. Privacy, law and contact

The Privacy Policy describes local processing, AI inspection, necessary access cookies and operational monitoring. These terms do not make consent to unrelated processing a condition of file cleaning.

Greek law governs application-use terms, without depriving consumers of mandatory protection available under the law applicable to them. Business disputes concerning our application are submitted to the competent courts of Piraeus, subject to mandatory jurisdiction rules. Consumers retain the courts and complaint routes provided by law. The merchant-of-record transaction terms may identify a separate governing law for the purchase. If a clause is unenforceable, the remaining lawful clauses continue to apply.
